LOT/LAOT (Lock-out Tool)
The Linear Actuator Override Tool (LAOT) and Lockout Tool (LOT) are designed for subsea operation by ROVs. The LAOT system is used to activate valves and other equipment requiring linear force, while the LOT is designed to hold a valve securely in a locked position.
Activation of the LOT is performed manually by the ROV operator. The stroke length to the locked position is fixed and must be specified by the customer, together with the interface type. Once the LOT is engaged, both the LAOT and the ROV can be disconnected while the valve remains locked in position.
Linear Actuators
Linear actuators are supplied in a wide range of applications and functions, powered either by hydraulic fluid or electrical AC/DC motors. They can also be used as damping cylinders to ensure soft landing of modules, and are often equipped with instrumentation for monitoring energy control and asset integrity.
